"What was suprising." says study author Deborah B.Nelson, phD,at Temple University," was that it wasn't a lot of physical activity" that made the difference ."It was mainly walking."Other benefits? It also lowers the risk for several cancers and Type 2 diabetes,improves blood pressure readings,helps prevent bone loss,fights arthritis,and slows weight gain.This spring ,bicycle,dance,hike,jump rope,kickbox,jog,row,skate,swim,and tackle the stair climber-whatever it takes to get yourself moving.
Women typically lose 5 percent of muscle mass per decade,starting at 50. And that percentage of loss increases at 70 and again at 80,so include weighlifting along with aerobic workouts.
